1. Introduction
Welcome to Citadellique Editorial („the Magazine”, „we”, „us”, „our”). We operate the website [www.editorial.citadellique-digital.com] („the Site”), a digital publication featuring curated editorial content, essays, interviews, criticism, and cultural commentary – completely free for all readers.
These Terms & Conditions („Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Site. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
Key principles:
- All editorial content is free (no paywalls, no subscriptions).
- We are supported by sponsors and advertisers.
- You may contribute your own work voluntarily, royalty-free (no payment, but full credit).
2. Definitions
- „Free Content” – All articles, interviews, essays, and other materials on the Site, accessible to everyone without registration or payment.
- „Sponsor” – A third party that pays the Magazine to display branded content, advertisements, or sponsor specific sections, without controlling editorial decisions.
- „User” – Any person who visits or interacts with the Site.
- „Registered User” – A User who has created a free account (e.g., to comment or save preferences).
- „Contributor” – A person who voluntarily submits original work (articles, images, etc.) for publication under our royalty-free license.
3. Free Access for All Readers
All content on Citadellique Editorial is free. We do not charge readers for access to any article, interview, archive, or feature.
- No paywalls.
- No subscription fees.
- No hidden charges.
- No requirement to register (though registration enables comments and newsletters).
We may, at our sole discretion, introduce optional features (e.g., personalized reading lists) that require registration, but core editorial content will remain free.
4. Registration (Not available now)
You may create a free account to leave comments on articles; subscribe to our newsletter (consent required); save preferences (e.g., dark mode, font size).
4.1 Registration requirements
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- You must provide a valid email address and choose a password.
- You may use a pseudonym as your public display name.
4.2 Account security
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential. Please notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
4.3 No payment information
Because there are no paid services, we never request or store any payment information (credit cards, bank accounts, etc.).
4.4 Deletion
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us or (if available) through your account settings.
5. Sponsors and Advertising
Citadellique Editorial is supported by sponsors and advertisers. This allows us to keep all content free.
5.1 Editorial independence
Sponsors and advertisers have no control over our editorial content. We do not allow sponsors to review, approve, or influence articles before publication.
All sponsored content is clearly labeled as one of the following:
- „Sponsored”
- „In partnership with [Name]”
- „Presented by [Name]”
5.2 Sponsored content vs. editorial content
- Editorial content: Written by our team or voluntary contributors, based solely on editorial judgment.
- Sponsored content: Created by or in collaboration with a sponsor, but still subject to our quality standards. It will always be labeled.
5.3 Display advertising
We may serve banner ads, native ads, or text ads. These ads are served by us or by third-party ad networks (see Privacy Policy for details on tracking).
5.4 No endorsement
A sponsor’s presence on the Site does not imply our endorsement of their products or services. Similarly, we do not endorse reader comments or third-party links.
5.5 Sponsors and user data
We do not share your personal data with sponsors unless you have given explicit consent (e.g., by entering a sponsored contest or signing up for a sponsor’s newsletter directly). See our Privacy Policy for details.
6. User-Generated Content (Comments) - NOT AVAILABLE NOW
Registered Users may leave comments on articles.
6.1 Comment guidelines
By commenting, you agree not to post:
- Illegal, defamatory, harassing, obscene, or threatening content;
- Impersonations of others;
- False or misleading information;
- Spam, self-promotion, or affiliate links without permission;
- Content that violates anyone’s copyright or privacy.
6.2 Moderation
We reserve the right to moderate, edit, or delete any comment at our sole discretion. We may also ban users who repeatedly violate these guidelines.
6.3 License to your comments
By posting a comment, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to display, distribute, and promote that comment on the Site and our social media channels, with attribution to your username.
6.4 Your responsibility
You are solely responsible for the content of your comments. We are not liable for any comments posted by Users.
7. Contributor Guidelines – Voluntary, Royalty-Free Submissions
This section applies to external contributors who submit original work for publication voluntarily, without payment.
We accept original:
- Articles about Travel, Nature & Culture, The Wild, History & Civilization;
- Interviews (transcribed or original Q&A);
- Photographs and illustrations;
- Essays (if accepted by the editorial team).
7.2 How to submit
Submissions are accepted via our email at [contribute@editorial.citadellique-digital.com]. You must include:
- Your name (or pseudonym);
- A short bio (optional, max 100 words);
- The work itself (as .doc, .txt, or .md, or pasted in the email body).
7.3 Royalty-free license
By submitting a work to Citadellique Editorial for publication, you retain full copyright ownership, but you grant us a non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to:
- Publish, display, and distribute your work on the Site;
- Archive your work indefinitely;
- Translate your work into other languages (with credit to you);
- Use excerpts (up to 30% of the work) for promotional purposes (social media, newsletters, trailers);
- Include your work in thematic collections or anthologies published on the Site.
7.4 No payment
You will not receive any monetary compensation for your submission. By submitting, you acknowledge and agree to this voluntary, royalty-free arrangement.
7.5 Credit and moral rights
Your name (or chosen pseudonym) will be clearly displayed as the author. We will not intentionally alter your work in a way that harms your reputation. If we make minor edits (grammar, clarity), we will not materially change your voice or arguments.
7.6 Your warranties
By submitting, you warrant that:
- The work is original and does not infringe any third-party copyright;
- You have the right to grant the license above;
- The work does not contain illegal, defamatory, or harmful content;
- If the work includes images or quotes from others, you have obtained necessary permissions.;
7.7 Right to reject or remove
We reserve the right to reject any submission without explanation. We may also remove published works at our discretion (for example, if we discover a rights violation or factual error). If we remove your work, we will notify you.
7.8 Withdrawal after publication
You may request removal of your work from the Site after publication, but we are not obligated to do so unless there are serious legal or ethical reasons. If we agree to removal, we will archive the work privately (for our records) but remove public access.
7.9 Future changes
If, in the future, we introduce paid contributions (Stage 3), that will be governed by a separate written agreement. Work submitted under this voluntary, royalty-free section will not be retroactively paid.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 Our property
All content created by the Magazine (including layout, design, logo, code, and editorial text not submitted by external contributors) is owned by Citadellique Editorial and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
8.2 What you may do (fair use)
You may:
- Share short excerpts (up to 100 words) on social media, blogs, or forums, provided you include a clear link back to the original article and credit „Citadellique Editorial”;
- Print a single copy for personal, non-commercial use;
- Quote our articles in your own work (with proper citation).
8.3 What you may NOT do
You may not:
- Republish an entire article elsewhere without our written permission;
- Use scraping, bots, or automated tools to extract content from the Site;
- Modify, sell, or commercially exploit our content (or contributors‘ content) without authorization;
- Remove copyright notices or attribution.
9. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Site for any illegal purpose;
- Attempt to hack, disrupt, or overload our servers;
- Impersonate any person or entity;
- Collect user data (including email addresses) without consent;.
- Post spam, malware, or phishing links;
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users (including in comments).
Violations may result in immediate account termination (if you have one) and, where appropriate, legal proceedings.
10. Termination and Suspension
10.1 Termination by you
You may delete your account at any time. Deleting your account removes your personal data (except where we are required to retain it by law, e.g., for legal claims).
10.2 Termination by us
We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Site immediately if:
- You violate these Terms;
- We believe your conduct harms the Magazine, other users, or third parties.;
10.3 Effect of termination
Upon termination, your right to post comments or access account-specific features ceases immediately. All content you submitted as a contributor remains published under the royalty-free license (unless we agree to remove it).
11. Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites (sponsors, references, social media). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of those websites. Access them at your own risk.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED „AS IS” AND „AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:
- The Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free;
- Any defects will be corrected;
- The content is accurate, complete, or current (editorial content reflects opinions and facts as known at time of publication).
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CITADELLIQUE EDITORIAL AND ITS OFFICERS, EDITORS, CONTRIBUTORS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SITE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS SHALL NOT EXCEED €50 (OR THE EQUIVALENT IN YOUR LOCAL CURRENCY).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability. In such cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

If the changes are material (e.g., affecting contributor rights or data practices), we will notify you by:

- Any defects will be corrected;
- The content is accurate, complete, or current (editorial content reflects opinions and facts as known at time of publication).
Your continued use of the Site after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Site.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to conflict of law principles.
15.1 Informal resolution
Before filing a legal claim, you agree to attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at [editorial@editorial.citadellique-digital.com]. We will attempt to resolve it within 30 days.
15.2 Jurisdiction
If informal resolution fails, any legal proceedings shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Bucharest, Romania.
15.3 No class actions
You agree to bring any claim against us only in your individual capacity, not as a class representative or class member in any class action.
16. Miscellaneous
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
- Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right.
- Entire agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Citadellique Editorial regarding your use of the Site.
- Assignment: We may assign these Terms (and our rights and obligations) to any affiliate or successor without your consent. You may not assign these Terms.
